2010's event featured a
pioneer in alternative healing for pets -- internationally renowned DVM, Dr. Deva Khalsa, author of Natural Dog was on hand to answer questions about Natural Pet Care.

Do YOU know how to care for your pet NATURALLY & HOLISTICALLY during an emergency? Dr. Judy Morgan, DVM of Clayton Veterinary Associates, demonstrated and talked about holistic first aid methods.

Sharon Sakson, author of Paws & Effect, the Healing Power of Dogs, signed her book and shared inspiring stories of canine courage.

Rescue & adopted pet's were showcased in Gordon's PET PARADE sponsored by Chic Petique @ the VCA Animal Healing Center Main Stage area...

Who is Gordon?  He is an amazing, fun-loving, playful and effervescent rescue who just happens to have a birth defect that he doesn't seem to know or care about.  His kneecaps are placed on the side instead of in the front. As he grew, the defect was never corrected and his tendons shortened so that he now walks with a bunny rabbit, hobbling gait. That doesn't stop Gordon from enjoying life - he delights in his squeaky toy obsession, tackles physical therapy like a champion and charms & inspires EVERYONE he meets. With his personality, determination & spirit - it is NO SURPRISE that a parade is named after him! Imagine what he has planned for the future?

GO GREEN TIP: Choose to re-home adoptable & rescued pets from PSPCA, PAWS, ACCT, Greyhound and other breed rescues and more…  Unwanted pets impact the environment and require space, food & shelter.  Adoption creates its own return rewards in unconditional love, play and unlimited snuggle factor on a global scale!

 History: - The Beginning

2004 THE MEETING: Lindsay Condefer's love for animals prompted her to open Chic Petique, a Philadelphia pet store exclusively selling natural health food & products.

Animal advocate, writer/producer Bette Hanson, first experience with animal holistic health happened in 2000 when her dog, Frank became ill.  She took him to see Dr. Deva Khalsa, author of Natural Dog & founder of the Animal Healing Clinic in Yardley, PA - a pioneer in animal holistic health.  Frank's life was transformed by holistic care and through it all, Bette listened and learned.

In search of good nutrition, Bette often walked into her local pet store, the Chic Petique and walked out with so much more... "I'd roam around, pouring over all the natural food choices, treats, leashes, shampoos, flea treatments and other products. I was in heaven. Then when I learned about Lindsay's philanthropic spirit, I knew I had met a kindred soul."

Lindsay was always a wealth of information for everyone who entered her store. It was obvious she had passion and knowledge, derived from a personal history with her own dogs health and wellness issues. They had much in common.

Determined to make a difference they commiserated over a common goal -- how to inform and educate pet consumers about the health & care of their animals so they could make wiser choices for their animal companions. They were only two people, could they really make a difference?

So one summer day in 2004, the talk stopped, they pooled their resources, skill sets, dreams and talents and thus, the 1st Natural Pet Expo was born.

Lindsay Condefer & the Chic Petique are proud to be an active & vital part of the Natural Pet Expo.
